Application Questions

apart from personal data like name and age, the following free-response questions are part of the application form:

# Question Explanation
1 If you could design and run a camp from scratch, what would it be about? Write a few sentences about your dream camp including the name of the camp, the parameters (camper's age group, number of campers, location, number of days), topics, structure, goal.
2 In a few sentences, describe your experience working with children (this can include siblings). Make sure you mention how you connect with children, and what motivates you the most to work with them.
3 Do you have any leadership experiences with children either in school or other social events? This can be at your school, university, community, social change project, family, friends or anywhere else.
4Why do you think you are qualified to work with children? We want to see whether you are aware of the skills and knowledge needed for working with children.
5What motivates you to participate in this training? It can be a plenty of different reasons and motivations.
6What are your goals in your future life? It's okay to dream big here :). We want to know what makes you passionate, what you burn for.

Your Contributions to the Training (Optional) - because we want our training to be practical and interactive, participants can offer Evening Activities, TED-style talks ("Camper Talk"), or even courses. If you have anything you want to offer, please briefly share what you have in mind below. Offering activities can increase your chance to be selected for the program. However it is up to our decision whether we include your proposal into the schedule or not.
Since our schedule is quite packed, we only have 1-2 participant-led slots per day.

# Question Explanation
7Do you have an Idea for a course that will help other participants of our training to develop their skills? a course is a 90min classroom-style session where you introduce a topic (usually one which has something to do with the theme of the camp) and then do exercises or practice with the participants
8Do you have an idea for a fun Evening Activity, which you would like to run? an evening activity is a 30-90min fun activity which is held in the afternoon or evening. Some examples include: improve-theatre, social deduction games, economic simulation games, word games, sports, yoga, martial arts, terrain games
9Do you have an idea for a Camper Talk, which you would like to hold? a Camper Talk is a 10-15min TED-style inspirational talk, it can be about any topic. An example can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DKc-HHrjO4.

We recommend that you write your answers separately in a text file and then copy them into the application form, so you do not lose your progress in case your browser window closes.
